The Greatest Thing Since Sliced Bread

What do sliced bread and chiropractic have to do with each other?

In 1895 D.D. Palmer a magnetic healer developed/discovered chiropractic — an American born healthcare system!

In 1917 Otto Frederick Rohwedder invented the first loaf-at-a-time bread-slicing machine.

I have always loved the term, “The Greatest Thing Since Sliced Bread” and I love chiropractic and being a chiropractor. Otto and D.D. both came up with their “inventions” in Davenport, Iowa. Must be the Mecca of great ideas :)

Over the years there have been many variations of sliced bread as there have been many variations of chiropractic. Some of the techniques used in chiropractic did not originate with chiropractors AND some techniques developed by chiropractors have been used by other professions.

Just like bread, where some people like wheat and some people like sourdough; In chiropractic, some people like a physical style and some people gentle style. Chiropractic Cranial as done in our office is more along the lines of the gentle style — no cracking, popping or major twisting.

However, Dr. Ross has been in practice for 23 years and under the right circumstance, pop and twist with the best of ‘em — generally it is not necessary.
